Former School District Treasurer Owes $6,292

Tuesday, August 9, 2016

Columbus – The former treasurer of the Cuyahoga Heights Local School District (Cuyahoga County) took 25 paid days off work that she was not entitled to, according to an audit released today by Auditor of State Dave Yost.

Former Treasurer Joy Clickenger’s contract authorized 25 days of vacation per year. During fiscal year 2015, she took 11 approved vacation days in addition to 39 paid “out of office” days.

Auditors determined that 14 of those 39 days counted toward her remaining vacation leave balance, leaving a total of 25 days off work that she was not entitled to. Payroll records showed Clickenger earned a net daily rate of $251.69, meaning she was overpaid a total of $6,292 for the 25 days.

A $6,292 finding for recovery was issued against Clickenger.
