Statement from Auditor of State Dave Yost
Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost concerning Mahoning County’s pledge to post its spending on OhioCheckbook.com.
“This is like going from the depths of February to the end of May overnight,” Auditor Yost said. “Mahoning County should be proud to be at the front of the line – and congratulations to Josh Mandel, Ralph Meacham and the county commissioners for standing up for the people.”
The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies. Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
