Auditor Faber again urges diligence as penalties, fees from late payments by public offices top $1.5 million since 2019
Under Ohio law, those who are responsible for fees, penalties, and interest resulting from a pattern of late payments face findings for recovery, meaning they are personally responsible for repaying the funds. “There are too many public offices in Ohio paying their bills late, and that’s unacceptable,” Auditor Faber said.
